Tonsil Stones/ bad breath
Tonsil stones, or tonsilloliths, are calcified deposits that form in the crevices of the tonsils due to the accumulation of debris, food particles, and bacteria. These stones can lead to a host of discomforts, with one of the most common issues being persistent bad breath, known as halitosis. The bacteria present in the stones produce sulfur compounds that emit an unpleasant odour, making breath freshness challenging to maintain.
Tonsillectomy
If tonsil stones are persistent and significantly affecting your quality of life, a tonsillectomy (surgical removal of the tonsils) may be considered. This is a more definitive solution but is usually reserved for ongoing or severe cases.
