Neck Node Biopsy – Precise Diagnosis of Lymph Node Conditions

A neck node biopsy is a procedure to remove all or part of an enlarged lymph node in the neck for laboratory analysis. It helps diagnose infections, inflammatory conditions, and cancers affecting the lymphatic system or nearby structures.

When is it needed?

Mr Adeel may recommend a neck node biopsy if you have:

  • A persistent or enlarging lymph node in the neck

  • Unexplained swelling lasting more than a few weeks

  • Associated symptoms such as fever, night sweats, weight loss, or fatigue

  • Abnormal imaging or inconclusive needle biopsy results

The procedure

The biopsy is usually performed under local or general anaesthesia. A small incision is made over the lymph node, and either the whole node (excisional biopsy) or part of it (incisional biopsy) is removed. The tissue is then examined under a microscope to determine the cause of the swelling.

Benefits

  • Accurate diagnosis of infections, immune disorders, or cancer

  • Guides appropriate treatment planning

  • Minimally invasive with a short recovery time

Recovery

Most patients return home the same day. Mild swelling or discomfort may occur but usually resolves within a few days.

Mr Adeel offers expert, precise neck node biopsies for fast and accurate diagnosis.
